Description“77 Days of the Caucasus” is a series of mission aboard the fighter F-15C .
Noted :
These missions were proposed in the first one in French language (I am French), them are proposed in English today. My English is very approximate, please forgive the heavinesses of translation, as well as the spelling mistakes and the nonsense…
I am conscious that the majority of the community do not speak French, but a translation of each of my missions asks a lot of time… These missions will be translated according to my spare time...
GEOPOLITICAL ANALYSIS
Georgia makes party of the geostrategic stakes important for the Americans and the Russians. Indeed, the foreign policy of this small Caucasian republic is made according to a subtle balance between Russian influence and American supports. This republic is one of the rare to be sheltered on its territory of the Russian and American bases. But this subtle balance in the relations which maintained this small country with two big great powers finds its end with the fall of the diet Chevardnadzé.
Soviet Ex-apparatchik, placed in the head of the PC of Georgia since 1972, Chevardnadzé knows well her neighbor who always had reflexes colonialist since the tsarist era. He considers that the Russians represent the main threat today. A altercation on the Chechen border with the Russians had given the opportunity to the Georgian president to receive American elite corps to train her army in the counter-terrorism, an operation to dissuade the Russians to intervene.
The opposition chased away Chevardnadzé. This velvet revolution is more pro-western than him. The small republic desire to be member of the European family as well as the Atlantic euro alliance, but the Russians distribute the gas in Georgian and control the electricity …
GEOSTRATEGIC SITUATION
For the United States the region of the Caucasus is important for diversifying their sources in oil not to depend too much on the Middle East. A position which allows to contain the Russian and Chinese influence in this region. Washington exploits the oil of the Caspian Sea and the hydrocarbons of Turkmanistan passing in transit by an oil pipeline crossing the Georgia.
Russia opts for the destabilization, an option which it had already chosen in South Ossetia or in Abkhazia. Option which allows him to get back its influence in front of Americans. A policy of destabilization facilitated by the corruption, a central authority which does not control any more the totality of its territory, weapons of any calibres which circulate and porous borders. A situation which calls back the fate of the small Chechen republic before the second war, when Moscow got back by the strength the young independent republic.
In summary this country is important in this region of the Caucasus and that Russians and Americans try by all the means to assure their leadership.
